Interior for 2023, 2032 & 2033 Lionel Postwar Dummy Diesel Alco engines

I made this interior similar to the Lionel 200 Series Alco interiors I  made.   The primary difference is the base is 9mm shorter.  There is a ledge on the frame in the 2032 that the interior must clear.

This is the design.   There is a large notch for the light and a smaller one for the wires that come out of the frame by the light.

I recommend replacing the standard bulb with a LED bulb that generates less heat.  This interior encloses the area around the light and excess heat could melt the shell.

The interior is designed to nest against the edges of the window.

Example of the interior fit in the frame. There is a slight defect in this print but it is still usable.

LED bulbs may not be as bright as the original. This shell has a bright, reflective color.  Along with the White printed part, it reflects the light to illuminate the interior well. If the interior is printed in a dark color I suggest painting the light notch and front exterior wall white. Also the inside rear, tall wall white.  The areas shown by the arrows.

If the shell is dark, the interior part of the shell around the light bulb could be coated with aluminum foil or painted white to help reflect the light back into the interior also.  I added figures and then positioned the interior and used 4 drops of hot glue to hold it in.

The result is I can see the engineers and interior well.  Small details do not show up well, don’t get carried away adding too much detail.
